I’ve parked there several times in the past, but it only takes one smashed window to learn the hard way that Jiffy absolutely does not care about the vehicles parked in their lots - or their customers. Propark’s Claims and Employee Relations Manager, Christopher Mendes, author of the rejection letter, verbally verified that cars parked on the streets of Newark have the same level of “care, custody and control” as cars that are parked in the Jiffy lot. However, the camera at the entrance verified that my window arrived intact. The Account Manager at the Newark Jiffy stated they have absolutely no idea what happened to my truck because they do not have surveillance of the lot. Since Jiffy is a self-park facility, all vehicle owners should know in advance that Jiffy has zero expectations for care, custody, control, or responsibility of/for the vehicles parked there. Located near the Newark Airport, The Parking Spot Haynes provides quality service at a competitive rate. I filed a claim and Propark Corporate wrote, “…since you self-parked your vehicle and at no time was it under our care, custody and control, we are unable to assume responsibility for the damage you have claimed.” This is a corporate policy and appears to apply to all Jiffy parking facilities managed by Propark America of Hartford, CT.
